Gauteng province of South Africa

Johannesburg, also known as Egoli -"place of gold", is the capital of Gauteng. Gauteng also has significant agricultural land providing fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meat to the cities as well as areas where maize, groundnuts, sunflowers, cotton and sorghum are grown.
Like themost of the interior of the eastern parts of South Africa this is a summer rainfall area. Summers are hot and winters frosty but dry.
